Description

Joe Fontana's list of accomplishments spans 64 years of racing, encompassing participation throughout New England, California, Utah, Germany, New Zealand and Australia; representing a truly global career.

The car you see here was purchased from a collector car auction that represented it to be the original "Flying Eagle" though, it was later discovered, after a member of the Burgess family reached out, that this is actually a car built by the driver, Mr. Burgess, as a tribute.

Complete with a 302ci Jimmy inline-6 w/ Stromberg carbs, a 4-Speed manual, a Halibrand Quick-Change rear end, and a P-52 Mustang seat. The sound of the 5.0L inline six engine is a real conversation starter to say the least.

Now available for your consideration, a tribute to the original "Flying Eagle", is this 1939 Chevrolet Coupe "Joe Fontana Engineering Special" built by Richard "Moon" Burgess (& family).
